After a long holiday weekend, no work in one week, We are now gearing back towards the keyboard, mouse and monitor and neven ending emails and tons of paperwork. But as they say, life is a balance. We will appreciate the holiday because we work hard. So thus the work. Im glad to have both in my world.

Halloween in Al Khor Community
Fun is how I describe the festivities of the underworld, Although to some people and religion this practice is taboo. I believe because of the commercial in nature, this event became popular around the world. As described by Wikipedea;
Halloween or Hallowe'en (a contraction of "All Hallows' Evening"),[5] also known as All Hallows' Eve,[6] is a yearly celebration observed in a number of countries on October 31, the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Hallows (or All Saints).
Typical festive Halloween activities include trick-or-treating (also known as "guising"), attending costume parties, carving pumpkins into jack-o'-lanterns, lighting bonfires, apple bobbing, visiting haunted attractions, playing pranks, telling scary stories, and watching horror films.

Habagat - Monsoon Disaster
August 7 - 8:31pm (Doha, Qatar Time)
I have been monitoring the weather via government tweets and facebook walls of my colleagues back home. at the same time retweeting it back to my wall. I have been there from start to finish, It was another devastating blow that hit the NCR area hard on the face.
According to PAGASA, it poured more rains than ondoy, it's more devastating than a category 5 typhoon. (Flooding aspect)
I have monitoring it from here http://www.goes.noaa.gov/sohemi/sohemiloops/shirgmscolw.html
This happened after a typhoon pounded central luzon and dump all the garbage in manila bay, As if our mother nature has a master plan. As our Government and Non-government prepare for a clean-up drive after that storm, The rain started to pour hard and non-stop that night, So all the garbage that was washed out the day before had found a way to come back. As we say it in tagalog, "Basurang itinapon mu, babalik din sayo" "The trash you throw will find its way to come back to you" and indeed, It is true.
Unless we learn to segregate our trash, this will happen time and time again. We need stricter rules and laws, environmental laws must be focused to avoid or at least reduce the effect of disasters.

All I can do is to retweet, repost all information that I can relay, to my civilian friends and colleagues.
I wish, I was there with my brother doing what I love to do, SAR Ops, rescuing others.

July 8 is the Bad Day for Demi
Its was a fine sunday morning in doha and we are about to finish our appointments with banks and MOFA (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) for my wife's work requirements. We are on our way to leisure time when suddenly this thing happened.
I was hit by this terrible guy who drove all the way from the far east just to look for a job here in Qatar. Unfortunately, I think he is not familiar with the road traffic laws of Qatar when he suddenly decided to turn left in the middle of the intersection.
It was a split second reaction, all I heard is my wife's screaming and a loud BANG! My heart stops to beat at that moment. After that Mr. "O" run away on that accident spot. So my reaction is to run after him, when he stops at the side of the road I immediately got down from my car and confront him. Although he accepted his fault, He just want to get away with it fast. Even if I know that I cannot do anything about it. I have to report this to the police and get a police report which I will need in repairing DEMI.
After talking and arguing, I drove around and buy some time to clear my mind on what will be the next move. I pull up aside and call 999 to report what happened to me. To my surprise the call has been transfered to a "Kabayan" So I reported that incident in my own language.
The kabayan told me to go to this traffic police station and report the incident. Unfortunately, the police station where I was directed told me that it was not the right one and they re-direct me to the Airport Traffic Police, Matar (airport) Murour (Police) in arabic, I learn some of these arabic words in the process.
So it was about lunch time when we came in, I approached one of the counter with my number of course, and ask the lady that I got into the accident. The lady immediately ask where is the other person involved in the incident. He is not there obviosly. So the lady told me that he needs to be there at the same time.
Another big headache, How can I bring the guy in if from the moment of incident he wants to run away and pretend nothing have had happen. I called the guy and told him in plain english to come in the police station right away, Again what makes it more difficult is te language barrier. So another lesson for me is I should learn the local language.
We waited for almost 3hours in the Morour, I already ask for some local help to call and summoned this guy into the police station. I am very greateful to the local police who delighted to help.
At 4pm Mr. "O" came in and smiled at me as if we were long time friends. I got up from my heated seat and went straight to the counter where the policeman is waiting. He immediately took the pen and paper to me and quickly draw the scenario, which I carefully watch what he will be sketching. But then, It was a relief when he draws the right one.
I think the police told him that it was clearly his fault. All along the day I felt that I have been in this emotional rollercoaster ride since the morning. A sign of relief that will quickly turn bad. Because to my knowledge this guy doesn't have any car insurance.
So that means he will need to pay me cash in which I doubt that he has enough cash to pay for DEMI's repair. My hyphothesis is right. He just paid me 1k QAR far from the reality after a 24hour negotiation. Thanks to my police angels and my interpreter Mr. Nader Badran.

Kung Hei Fat Choi - 2012
We almost forgot to celebrate the Chinese New Year. Good thing that one of our clubs here in the community serves chinese food. So we ordered some famous chinese dishes to grace our celebrations. Sweet and Sour fish, Kung Pao, Chinese Fried Rice and for long life, "Pancit" Chinese Noodles. May we all have a prosperous year ahead.
QATAR Motorshow 2012
This is been the second motorshow that I have witnessed here in Qatar, Although they showcase mostly luxury cars that only Arab Money can buy. I still find it entertaining, because I love cars. But this is still far from the ones we have back home. It is so much entertaining in the Philippines Motor Show, even not avid car lovers will be attracted. Why? Because of the beautiful and voluptous ladies that graced the show. It must be a complete package, although here they have also Caucasian beauties, Brunettes and some asians, Yet they are still far from better.
I want one!
Futuristic Bike!
Now, that's a concept car!
